With the new TTCN-3 Java Compiler, all the C++ TestPorts can not be used anymore. Is there some kind of roadmap or status page of which of the many titan.TestPort2.*

  • have already been ported/reimplemented in Java
  • are on the TODO list / roadmap of being ported/reimplemented
  • will never be ported/reimplemented by the TITAN team

Having such a list available would make it relatively simple to determine the amount of work needed for a given Test Suite to be used/ported over to the Java compiler. The TTCN-3 language differences are not all that large and documented - but likely the much more critical (and effort required) is having to port TestPorts as a user from C++ to Java.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Harald,

Unfortunately, porting TestPorts and ProtocolModules is off the table at the moment, as we don't have the capacity to do that. It is uncertain whether we can continue this activity at all. A few are already ported, you can find them in the titan.misc repo.

Thanks for the quick response. Given that the situation you've outlined, there's obviously no need for such a table.

It might be worth documenting the status/situation in the user manual, no matter how sad/dissatisfactory it may be for you as developers. My apologies if it's already stated but I missed it.
