Sometimes I get the message shown in Fig 4 when I attempt to delete an Eclipse Project from the Project Explorer.
To set this up, there initially wasn't an Eclipse Project and I opened a file from the Working Tree as shown in Fig 1. Then I import an Eclipse Project and opened the same file from the Project Explorer as shown in Fig 2. I don't edit these files and there aren't Unstaged or Staged changes. I initially thought having 2 instances of the same file open caused it to report "not in sync" when I later attempted to delete that project. But that same sequence doesn't always cause "not in sync".
After several attempts of clicking in these views, I'm eventually able to delete the project without getting the "not in sync" message. It seems checking out a different branch either causes or prevents that message. In other words, with an Eclipse project the file view correctly updates when checking out a different branch but a stale/spurious event then makes it think a resource changed.
How can I consistently cause "not in sync" to appear?
Once "not in sync" appears and I press Cancel, how can I consistently clear that condition so the next attempt to delete the project doesn't generate that message?
