Tree view on model file on the first run not working [message #1863820] Wed, 28 February 2024 09:25 Go to next message

Hi,
I defined an EMF metamodel (1st Eclipse instance), and a Xtext project for having a textual language for it (2nd Eclipse).

On the 3rd Eclipse, then I:
1. create a modeling project
2. create a textual file with the required extension
3. manually insert the minimum required content to get a parsable model

Issue: in the model explorer, it is not possible to expand it (seeing the contained model elements) unless I close the project and reopen it.

Am I doing something wrong on the Xtext or EMF side? Any way to overcome this?

Thank you in advance for any answer

Hello Francesco!

Are you talking about the Modeling Project from Sirius?

If yes, there could be some shortcomings using that one, in that case you can also raise your question on the Sirius forum.

Hope that helps!
Tamás

Hi Tamás,

yes, it is a Sirius modeling project.

In particular, I am referring to this:
index.php/fa/44016/0/

Sirius also adds stuff in there (the available diagrams), but I actually don't know if Sirius is the main responsible for generating that (I would say, the metamodel.edit/editor plugin is)

I will crosspost this on the EMF forum then (edit: here).

Edit 2: it seems not to be a EMF thing, also trying on Sirius, here.

Here is more data about the problem:

Video showing the issue.

See the attached zip file for a reproducible example (Xtext only, with implicit EMF metamodel).
