It would be preferable to have separate list of "open" document tabs for any split editor view. currently the split editor applies only to one file. instead there should be independent file tab list for any number of split editor views.

Ok, if you first clone a "file" tab, then you can drag it to "right" as separate split window section, which is independent of the first split view. note: the window -> editor drop down menu does not provide a simple direct "set number of editors" or similar, to set the true split editor sections.

as of now I feel the current form of the split editor is blocking the easy usage of the split editor sections, which should be the only split editor more. engineer k.i.s.s. ok? only one split editor mode, not two. this is what I mean.
