Hi,

We are doing the 3gpp IMS testing of our LTE UE and I am wondering if there is an open source libSip codec that works with the 3gpp structures. The Titan protocol modules for SIP/SDP has slightly different from the 3gpp structures.

Previously we did the LTE testing and we encountered the same problem with the NAS codec. I solved it by writing an automatic code mapper from 3gpp structures to the Titan NAS module. ( The tool automatically mapped the structure fields and generated ttcn code to copy the structures. ) But this method is not perfect and still needs some manual mappings and corrections.

I would like to know how you are solving this issue? Am I missing something that is obvious? Also would like to know if there are any copyright issues in making the 3gpp structure mappings public (or the mapping tool itself).

Thank you for any help or pointers,
Bipin

Both modules have common ancestors but were developed independently.
We don't have a ready made encoder for the 3gpp libsip, but encoder/decoder part of the TITAN's SIP port can be modified/stripped down to adopt to the 3gpp type structure.

Hi Bipin,

Do you mean the 3GPP testsuites delivered by ETSI TF160 in
https://www.3gpp.org/ftp/tsg_ran/WG5_Test_ex-T1/TTCN/Deliveries/TTCN3 ?

In that case Gábor is right: there are different incompatible flavors used by different teams at ETSI.

For those, I have the IMS codecs which I am using for the 3GPP MCX testsuite, but they are not public.

For further information you can contact me at olafalejandro.bergengruen@web.de

Regards,
Olaf
