Hey,

we would like to use GIT LFS with a self hosted gitlab and ran into this error:

There are already patches for this problem:

Currently we are using Eclipse 2023-03 with version
6.5.0.202303070854
of JGit.

I managed to create a local branch containing that version and cherry picked the changes of the three gerrit changesets. With some small changes I managed to get a running version which is working.

I saw gerrit the first time while looking into this issue. None of the changesets got merged into the main development. I would like to know what has to be done by whom to get the error fix into the main development.

These changes are non-trivial and the author didn't respond to Thomas' comments.
AFAIK none of the active committers is using LFS hence we have little motivation
to spend effort on these changes if the author isn't responsive.

Would it be OK if we "resubmit" the patch and subsquently respond to your comments?

It's ok to revive the changes if you improve them based on the comments and add tests
