In trying to install Eclipse 2023-09 IDE for Java Developers, I get the following message: Do you trust unsigned content of unknown origin.

I have installed new versions of the Eclipse IDE for Java many times over the years without an issue, so this is not normal. Is it safe to approve this download? Is there a way to be informed whenever this issue is corrected?

Some very old bundles are no longer considered signed by the latest Java runtimes., i.e., their jar signatures are considered too weak by modern standards because they are SHA.1-based. Such bundles are now PGP signed, but you might have old such bundles in your bundle pool without an associated PGP signature.

It's not possible to say anything definitive if you don't share information about the bundles involved...

If you don't have old installations that need to be kept alive/running, you could delete your entire ~/.p2 folder to start with a new empty pool.

Thanks so much for your prompt reply. I deleted the entire .p2 folder, and installation succeeded without any issues.
