I wanted to know the version of Internet Explorer widget embedded in Eclipse v4.6. Can we replace it with other browsers like MS Edge and Google Chrome.

The widget uses the natively installed parts of IE so whatever version that is. Yes it's possible to use Edge but if I recall correctly, you have to install some webkit thing first:

Actually Eclipse is used as an IDE in Teamcenter (PLM Software). This software is installed on Linux server and clients are using it on Windows platform. If Eclipse is installed on Linux Server, then there will be no native IE installed. We want client applications pointing to Linux Server should able to use other than IE browser. And if IE browser cannot be changed, then what is the version of it. We want to develop some customization over it.

There is no embedded browser. Each OS used a different native browser widget/implementation that is available on the OS external to the Eclipse implementation. IE is used only on Windows.
