Cannot launch nested eclipse [message #1857001]

I've followed "Automated Developer Setup" in Contributor Guide up to launching the nested eclipse.

After launching Debug As > Eclipse Application on org.eclipse.egit.ui project, the nested eclipse fails to start with many plugin errors logged. The log is attached.

This is after my target platform is configured to correct eclipse version - see image.

In the launch configuration's plugins tab you set it to launch with "all workspace and enabled target platform plugins"? The Validate Plug-ins button displays also a bunch of resolved things?

Yes, the launch configuration that was created automatically is set to "All workspace and enabled target Plug-ins".

The validation shows several problems:
