I am trying to find out why the Java 17 Eclipse 2021-090421 plugin missing from the Eclipse Marketplace.

Because every release 2021-12 and onward contains that support so no need to patch a very old version.

Yes. The patch is not needed for the current release, but developers/testers may need to reproduce a particular environment, so surely release/patch material should not be withdrawn? Perhaps renamed to avoid accidental consumption, but linked so that the original can be found.

My organization does not upgrade the Eclipse application until it has been vetted, so upgrades are not done very often. This is the reason why we needed this release/patch for Java 17.

Or why they need to revisit that policy. The provider no longer supports that patch.
