OK how many hoops do I need to go through to report something????

When Installing Eclipse, even though it asks where files should go, it does not put the main program there.

So If one wants to install eclipse of a PC where more than one user may log in (not simultaneously) it puts files in the Windows Profile of the installer which are not useable when a different person logs in.

In many environments end users are not given admin rights to install programs so another Tech Support User with admin rights needs to log in to install them. the Eclipse installed does not provide for that.

You might notice in the menu of the installer (upper right button) there are items for "Ask a Question" and "Report a Problem".

https://www.eclipse.org/setups/installer/question/
https://www.eclipse.org/setups/installer/problem/

The installer's primary purpose is to create an installation specific for a given user in a location writable for the user.

In any case, the answer to your general question is here, specifically in the "What Else Should I Consider?" section:

https://www.eclipse.org/setups/installer/question/

The last sentence on that page gives you an alternative if you don't like the installer for the purpose of creating a shared installation.

I've always found that sarcasm is generally not an effective tool for soliciting help. I wonder if you have different experience on that front?
