IntelliJ IDEA support [message #1849219] Sun, 09 January 2022 04:01 Go to next message

Hi All,
anybody here tried to build and use the IntelliJ IDEA IDE for KURA development? We are going to build some additional devices and cloud connections but prefer to stay with our common IJ environment. I know that maybe that's approach isn't fully compliant with the whole Eclipse community.

Hello,
I have no direct info about IntelliJ usage. In the Kura development team we are all using the Eclipse IDE.
The only potential issue that I see is that the Eclipse Kura build system uses Eclipse Tycho, that is interpreted by the Eclipse IDE but may not be fully understood by IntelliJ.

Best regards,
Matteo

Hello,

thank you, hoped only if there is some proved path to make it possible. In that case we will try to use Eclipse IDE ... btw for sure will be coming back with some ideas and improvements as we see to use Kura as the main SW stack at our IoT smart energy HW platform.

Cheers
Tomasz
