Looking for an prod ready authentication for mosquitto which is dynamic/DB based.

Came across mosquitto-auth-plug but found that there is no activity for the past two years. Is this supported now? Is there a documentation on configuration ?

I do not find the README helpful for configuration - is there any clean documentation.
