We updated our target platform from 2020-06 to the newest version.
During application startup, we now get an exception (see below) when calling:
org.eclipse.core.resources.ResourcesPlugin.getWorkspace()

We see this exception starting from release 2020-09.
Does anyone know what could be the problem?

If I add a feature dependency to org.eclipse.e4.rcp it works again. But I do not want to do that. Which plugin could be responsible?

After adding the following plugins to my feature, everything is runing again.
But is this expected? Why do I need to add these plugins now?

org.apache.felix.scr
org.eclipse.osgi.services
org.eclipse.osgi.util
