Changing preferences of Project Explorer in RCP [message #1830555]

I want to change the preferences of the Project Explorer, i.e.:

1. Disabling active "pre-set" filters
2. Adding additional "user filters"

How can I do that?

For 1. I tried to set the preference org.eclipse.ui.navigator/org.eclipse.ui.navigator.ProjectExplorer.filterActivation in my plugin_customization.ini file but it does not change anything.

For both cases it is not clear to me how to change the initial settings in my RCP product..
