Apple has announced it has decided to part with Intel and henceforth build its desktops and notebooks based on its own ARM-based processors. Does eclipse has plans to port the eclipse software especially SWT to ARM on macOS? If yes, what will happen to the current eclipse/SWT macOS ports based on Intel x86 and x86_64 processors?

IMHO, it will take a long while!
We still need to see native ARM Windows 10 JVM first, although ARM Windows existed a long while.

As was mentioned in the platform-dev mailing list thread, https://devblogs.microsoft.com/java/announcing-openjdk-windows-arm/ shows that there's progress being made there.

That's what Microsoft is doing because Java community is not porting to Windows ARM. Apple abandoned Java project in the past. I don't think Apple will step in to port into ARM MacOS. Only when ARM Java is ready, then SWT can be ported into ARM Java!
