Is it possible to (and how does one) align column entries in a Table on the decimal point when the format is: fixed decimal place showing (e.g. 2 decimal places) and negative numbers are indicated with parentheses? Currently, when I right-align the column, it aligns the values on the right-most character's right edge. In the case of negative numbers, that would be the right parenthesis. This throws the alignment on the decimal point even farther away.

Note: Not using fixed width fonts either, so narrower characters may throw the alignment off if I just base it off of the character count to the right of the decimal point.

Hello Richard,

by default there isn't a way for alignment of decimal numbers.
BIRT hasn't such option.

The only way would by to try to create your date like a HTML-table and there you can try special formatting options based on CSS.

The HTML-way isn't the easiest way.
