OS: Win7
Base Eclipse: Eclipse 2019-09
Java: RedHat OpenJDK 11.0.4

Error:
Unable to read repository at https://download.eclipse.org/releases/2020-03/content.xml.
PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

I have been using Eclipse since v3.0 and it was only once my company forced us to use OpenJDK on our desktops that upgrading via the "Install New Software" feature is doing this. At home with Oracle Java 8 and Java 13, this feature has no issues. Is the eclipse websites using a server certificate that is unsupported in the OpenJDK keystore?

It sounds likely that the version of Java you're using doesn't contain certain root certificates that it should contain(and that https://adoptopenjdk.net/ versions do contain.
