What unix stream do INFO and WARNING Messages Use? [message #1823237] Mon, 23 March 2020 12:14 Go to next message

I'v written a script with my DSL's command line compile to blast through some examples and I'm trying to pipe the output to a log file.

I'm seeing that INFO and WARNING messages - that are printed as part of my Xtext validation, are not being output into the file. Almost like they are part of the standard error stream - but they are not.

I've tried:

<my shell script with compiler calls> | tee log.log
<my shell script with compiler calls> 2> log.log
<my sehll script with compiler calls> 2> 1& log.log

None of these seem to contain the INFO and WARNING messages. If my compiler prints to System.err, I see it in the output, but those are all manual calls in my app instead of the validation calls for INFO and WARNING.

My compiler isn't run in standalone (like most of the examples on the web), instead it's run inside a headless RCP app.

Any tips?
