So, this is not a major issue, but I'm just curious.

At some point, eclipse started showing the IntelliJ icon in the workspace title bar.

Any ideas why? Or how to change it back?

This on Mac OS X 10.13.6
with Eclipse
Version: 2018-09 (4.9.0)
Build id: 20180917-1800

cheers,
- Linus

That's strange. I think the icon is specified in the <app-name>.app/info.plist via the property <key> CFBundleIconFile</key> which for me specifies the <string>Eclipse.icns</string> which is a resource located in <app-name>.app/resources/Eclipse.icons. Perhaps something changed the info.plist or the Eclipse.icns.

Thanks for the response. However, those files have not changed since install, and the Eclipse.icns file contains only various-sized Eclipse icons.

This icon is in the application window title bar displaying the file path for the selected file.

So, doing some investigation, it turns out that this has nothing to do with Eclipse. It's from the system file type "open with" association, which apparently IntelliJ switched to be itself.

So... Never mind. :-)

I just ran into this myself. It is more than annoying as I keep thinking I am in intellij. (I switch back and forth).

How to fix it?

Given the comment about file associations, and the fact I rare use my Mac VM, I would try to Google that

https://www.google.com/search?q=mac+system+file+type+"open+with"+association

And see if those help me fix it. Maybe there is a file association with the filename "workspace".
