working example connecting monaco editor with a Xtext LSP server [message #1810391]

I am searching for any hints/tutorials/documentation for creating a running example:

frontend:
- monaco editor
-- using monaco-languageclient

backend:
- Xtext Language Server
-- with arithmetics example
- using the new websocket support in lsp4j
- build by gradle

I am aware of this example but can't get it to work.

Any hints? :-)
