I started learning about 12 years ago but I haven't done it in years and lack a development kit on this computer.

However I went to the oracle website and tried to download the JDK as well as JRE but I can't figure out how to run the developing software. All it gives me is some "Mission Control" which didn't exist when I installed it 12 years ago. In fact, the entire process differs.

Please help, thanks.

(I'm on Windows 10)

Well, if you install a "Java Development Kit" from Oracle, you have the bare minimum for compiling and running Java programs, but that doesn't include what you call "developing software".
As you are asking this not in an Oracle forum but in an Eclipse forum you seem to know that Eclipse has s.t. to offer in this field.
Assuming that you want an IDE, just go to https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ and install the "Eclipse IDE for Java Developers". Isn't that what you are looking for?
