Mr. Zoitl,

I read a paper from you long years ago:
<<Advanced use of PLCopen motion control
library for autonomous servo drives
in IEC 61499 based automation
and control systems>>

from my point of view, due to different type of hardware, the implementation part of PLCOpen seems to hasn't been standardized,Dsifbs mean different
fb and different logic behind accord the the type of hardware, and can be reused in spefic hardware, is that right?
Because this paper was long time ago, so any new idea with PLCOpen implementation in IEC61499?

Hi,

yes this is really a long time ago. This was even before we even thought about doing something like Eclipse 4diac. I haven't revisited this concept for a long time. I think a view things I would do differently now. Especially we would much more use adapters. but the general concept would definitely stay. This is what you have very nicely summarized in separating hardware specific code from vendor neutral. Similar to our IO concept it could even be interesting to setup such a framework in 4diac where we maintain the vendor7hardware neutral part for consistent behavior and high code reuse and provide defined interfaces to plug the specific parts into it.

cheers,
Alois

This depends on the interface to the drives. But for now I would say yes. However this has to be done only once.
