In previous versions of Eclipse, if I was working in a branch next to the
project name in the package explorer, the branch name would be displayed
inside of brackets. I'm working in the branch right now, and the branch name
doesn't appear next to the project name. Is there a switch I can flip
somewhere to make this appear? It's handy info.

I am most certainly using the package explorer. In the CVS decorator
preferences, project decoration is set to:
{outgoing_change_flag}{name} {tag} [{host}]

My Eclipse version is 3.41., Build M20080911-1700

Thanks.

Doh... forget it all. Under Window -> Preferences -> General ->
Appearance -> Label Decorations, CVS was un-checked. I'm a doofus.
