Hard crash when opening browser [message #1798167] Tue, 13 November 2018 09:36
Eclipse UserFriend
I have got a very weird behaviour. If I start eclipse with -Xmx5g (or more), then whenever a browser widget is displayed the JVM crashes. If I start with -Xmx4g (or less), then it doesn't crash (but the browser is rendering raw HTML). This happens long before the memory allocated even reaches 1g.

This is with Eclipse 4.6-4.8, on RHEL7, with GTK3 (gtk 3.22.10, webgtk 2.14.7).

Could not test yet with Eclipse 4.9.

Does anyone have any idea about what could be the problem? Sometimes we really need 5g or more...

best regards,
Vlad
