I upgraded to eclipse Photon and now my project when debugging compiles with no errors or warnings but eclipse says:
"Errors exist in the active configuration"

Did something change in Photon to make this happen? How do I fix this issue since there is no errors or warnings during compile?

Strange, does anything show in the Problems view? If there is something there that doesn't belong, you can actually delete errors in the Problems view.
