Working with onRenderScripts [message #1793007]

So I'm using BIRT 4.7 and trying to develop a shared library for a simple yes / no checkbox set. I was able to get the visual aspect done, but when it comes to changing the internal dynamic text box based on a library user property it doesnt seem to work. The only reason I think my code is failing is because no matter how I send the the value from the parent rptDesign file, my static value is converted from a string or a number to the object data type.... how can I get it back to what I expected it to be?
