About a year and a half ago the charts in my Maximo reports (Out of Box and Custom) stopped rendering when exported to PDF. The problem only exists when the report is exported to PDF from Maximo. This is in both Maximo 7.5 and 7.6.
The reports are designed using the SVG graphic format in BIRT 371. They render to screen and export to all file formats just fine through BIRT. When the report runs in Maximo, it renders to screen just fine but when exported to PDF, the chart does not render. All other export formats work fine.
When I change the graphic format to PNG or JPG, the charts render fine to PDF however I lose the resolution that I get with SVG.
I have contacted IBM and they worked on this for over a year and insist that this is an issue with BIRT (Eclipse) and the iText PDF generator. They cannot re-create the problem nor do they have any idea why its happening.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
