Disappearing error markers in Projects Explorer [message #334194]

Hi.

I am doing validation on some files and adding an error marker to them
when validation fails. Up until yesterday everything worked fine, with
the Problems view showing the error and the file and its parents being
decorated with an error decorator in the Projects Explorer.

All of a sudden, although the marker gets correctly added to the IFile
and the Problems view gets updated correctly, the decoration in the
Projects Explorer no longer appears.

I am at a loss as to the possible reason for this. It occurs both under
Ganymede and under Europa. Any ideas?

I would check the error logs of your rumtime eclipse under
<workspace>/.metadata/.log when this starts happening. Any errors?

Failing that, you might need to open a bug against
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=Platform &component=UI&short_desc=[CommonNavigator]
for the Project Explorer

Thank you for your reply, Paul.

I forgot to mention it in my previous post, but no, no error message
appear in either the log or anywhere else.

I have filed this as a bug
(https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=262415) as per your
suggestion.
