Query result limit [message #1785789] Thu, 19 April 2018 18:19 Go to next message
Eclipse UserFriend
Hello
Background
***********
> Using Birt v4.6.0 free version
> Postgres database
> Using crosstab in report to display query results
> Max of 384,357 rows returned from my query

Problem
*******
When displaying the data, birt displays a timeout error after a delay of about 10 to 15 minutes. user is unable to access the data via Birt so I had to execute the query directly via PgAdmin and export to csv

Question
********
1) Does birt have a threshold of the max rows that it can display?
2) The query behind the report consists of several CTEs. Does Birt allow the use of stored procedures? Maybe that would improve performance?
3) What other performance measures can be taken to improve performance and get the data displayed for the user?
4) Is there a paid version of Birt (maybe with more capabilities than the free version) ?

Thank you all for your time
