Help...Eclipse on Mac won't open [message #1781318]

Hi everyone-
I downloaded eclipse and have been trying to get it to open. I downloaded the JRE and the JDK, like the newcomer thread told me to. I specified the JVM by following the directions on the wiki page. Eclipse still will not open. As soon as I click to open, I get a message saying it quit unexpectedly. I don't know what to do anymore

Check for hidden files, or files whose names start with '.'.
