I have built a DSL that is derived from Xbase and the codegen is based on IJvmModelInferrer.

I have a question on how I can turn off the auto-build in Eclipse and generate code by using a custom command.

I did create a command but it appears the build triggered by the command only works properly if the XtextBuilder is set on the project and is active.

My problem is that the auto-build triggers every time the dependent projects are updated and there is a cascading codegen that is time-consuming and doesn't really do anything new as the DSL model didn't change.

I would appreciate any pointers on how it can be accomplished.

Thank you!

xtext builder is needed but you should remove the builderparticipant from plugin.xml to avoid auto generation.

Need professional support for Xtext, Xpand, EMF?
