Eclipse now resembles a video game rather than a serious JDT tool with pop-ups, unwanted text boxes and other useless things obscuring the screen while you're trying to type. Tried to turn it all off but only partially successful.

Productivity way down with this release. Maybe more a a tool for beginners now, for those that don't know how to code and need serious hand-holding. Looking at other IDE's for the first time in years.

This is not entirely super constructive in terms of details. I'm not sure I've ever seen a text box while using JDT. In fact nothing shows, useless or otherwise, while I type, until of course I hit Ctrl-Space when I would like a completion suggestion. I wonder what you all tried to turn off? I don't see that anything has changed with the Oxygen release in this regard. If you'd like to provide a constructive suggestion for what ought to be more configurable, please provide appropriate details. If you just feel a need to rag in a generic way, that you've done well enough.
