I would like to know how one can customize the eclipse status bar. Specifically, on the very right side there is an rss icon I would like to remove (only the icon, not the status bar).

Disabling notifications and automatic news polling in the options unfortunately did not remove the rss icon. I could not find any other relevant setting in the options or under

Window -> Perspective -> Customize Perspective...

either.

It seems that customization of the status bar is not possible. Is there anybody who can confirm this?
