Hello,
I've been using Eclipse to learn some java programing and so far its been working great.
I don't know what i did but right now i cant execute Eclipse on my Linux, i clearly have some looping problem but i lack the experience to fix it.

Las thing i did was starting a java project and i think accidentally closed it and try to create an other with the same name. eclipse told me there was an other project with that name. I decided to close all windows and ended closing Eclipse. restarted and got : "an error occurred see the log file ~/eclipse-workspace/.metadata/.log."

I Tried to increase -XX in config.ini to -Xms512m -Xmx1536m but that didn't help.

I feel i should be able to fix this on my own but its clearly over me.
OS: Lubuntu
Linux version 4.10.0-33-generic (buildd@lgw01-52) (gcc version 6.3.0 20170406 (Ubuntu 6.3.0-12ubuntu2) ) #37-Ubuntu SMP Fri Aug 11 10:55:28 UTC 2017

Ok, after trying some other solution on internet, i found a post saying that program startup problems are usually related with the .metadata folder. after tinkering a little i manage to run Eclipse again... then after some test run and fail i managed to discover the file that was causing the problem. deleating only that file fixed my problem. Not loosing my other projects and classes.

The file causing the problem was workbench.xmi found on .workbench/.plugins/org.eclipse.e4.workbench

I'm uploading the file in case a developer wants to take a closer look to prevent this problem in the future.

greetings
