Hello,

I had a problem while trying to install plugins into eclipse neon 3.

The provisioning wasn't working, I was getting the following errors:
- HTTP Proxy Authentication Required Error
- org.eclipse.equinox.p2.core.ProvisionException: No repository found at ...

I've found several solutions on the net, but none was working in my case.

I was very surprised, when I solved my problems only by changing my proxy password. It seems, that a special character "§" was causing all those errors!

I don't know if this is a problem with Oomph or any library used by it. Not sure if I should create a bug report for this.

cheers

Witold

There are libraries such as org.eclipse.core.net and org.eclipse.ecf.core that are used under the covers. P2 directly uses these things as well. It's unlikely this issue is Oomph-specific. More likely some encoding problem in the underlying frameworks...

I suspected that would most likely be the case. I posted this piece of information here, because when people search for those errors it most frequently concerns provisioning.

I remember heaving this issue couple years ago, never reported it. I counted it on being a known bug and getting fixed in some time.
