Hello,

I have created a development environment after the document https://www.eclipse.org/smarthome/documentation/development/ide.html. The following components are involved:

  • Ubuntu 16.04
  • git 2.7.4
  • Oracle Java JRE1.8.0_131
  • Oracle Java JDK1.8.0_131
  • Eclipse Oxygen Release (4.7.0)

After the installation and start of the Smarthome-Runtime according to instructions I get an error 404 in the browser under the URL localhost: 8080. As a browser I use Firefox and Chromium.

I have tried more often, what am I doing wrong?

I need your help, Hans Jürgen

Hi Hans Jürgen,

what is the exact URL you are trying to load? With ESH there comes PaperUI which should be available after the IDE setup and start of ESH under http://localhost:8080/paperui/index.html

Let me know if this helps. Cheers,
Henning

Thanks Henning for your reply and the correct hint. It was my mistake. I have thrown the old instructions (openHAB 2, Youtube video) and the new instructions (Eclipse Smarthome) thrown together. For openHAB 2, the URL is in the video "localhost: 8080". What an annoying mistake.
