Javascript and debugging configuration. [message #1764400] Mon, 29 May 2017 07:59
Eclipse UserFriend
I have created a simple JavaScript project and a .html file inside it ("Hallo World") inside Eclipse Version: Neon.3 Release (4.6.3) Build id: 20170314-1500 and now I want to know how to debug with Chrome but fail.

I have already found the entry of Makrokode of Jan 8th on stackoverflow about this issue but do not get further.

I have added with directory chrome.exe(default) via Eclipse Preferences → JavaScript → Runtimes as suggested by Makrokode but probably need additional advice how to set up the debugging configuration.

This is what I get: From the .html file I select -> debug as -> 1 Chrome / Chromium Debugger and I obtain a window "Your File has not been found" and also a window which asks to "select a tab to debug "and then a window saying "failed to connect to browser tab".

Unfortunately, I have not found an explanation how to deal with "Debug/Run" configuration in Eclipse with regard to javascript.

Any help is very much appreciated and sorry if this question is trivial.
