Hi,
BIRT pdf report generation does not show Arabic characters.
html, csv, text and word report generation works fine.

environment:
redhat Linux 7, tomcat 8, birt-runtime 4.5.0

Any idea ?
Regards
Klaus

Do you mean the space is blank, or that you see something other than the characters you expect?

Report shows blank space.
see attached file birt-1.doc
If I change in fontConfig_pdf.xml codepage from Cp1252 to Cp1256,
e.g <encoding font-family="Times-Roman" encoding="Cp1256" />
all characters are displayed as question mark (?) in the pdf.

you mean a special font ?
I've installed kacst fonts and layla (basic Arabic) fonts and add the font paths to fontConfig.xml. I can see them in FontViewer utility.
