Dear all,

Gemini Blueprint 2.1.0 has been released. Most notably, it has been upgraded to Spring 4.3.7 and Java 8, contains a significant number of bugfixes and improvements (see milestone 1 / 2 releases) and ships with support for annotation-based service injection.

https://www.eclipse.org/gemini/blueprint/
http://git.eclipse.org/c/gemini.blueprint/org.eclipse.gemini.blueprint.git/plain/changelog.txt?h=2.1.0.RELEASE

I would like to express my gratitude to Andy Piper, Oleg Zhurakousky, Costin Leau, Hal Hildebrand and, most of all, Glyn Normington for so quickly helping to clarify the IP situation for the annotations contribution.

Kind regards,
Olaf

Hello Olaf,

Are there any plans Gemini Blueprint to support Spring 5.0 and Java 9?

Thanks in advance for your response,
Best regards,
Nina

Dear Nina,

Sorry for the very late reply! The answer is Yes! Gemini Blueprint 3.0.0.M1 is on the way and will feature Spring 5 + Java8, see https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/rt.gemini.blueprint/releases/3.0.0/. Since this involves a lot of dependency changes, the Intellectual property Review (IP review) by eclipse took a bit longer but I am optimistic the M1 release release for 3.0.0 will ship in the next two weeks.

Kind regards,
Olaf
