Hi all,

I encounter an odd problem regarding a UML model configuration to validate by an EVL module. The list of metamodels which my UML model conforms to them is missed now! I attached the two windows here. I have not this problem before. Now, I am using Eclipse Mars 2 release and Epsilon 1.5.

Please, help me to resolve this issue.

Thanks a million
Alireza

Hi Alireza,

In 1.5 the UML metamodel is auto-configured for UML models - there's no need to specify it manually.

Cheers,
Dimitris

So, what should I do to load other metamodels. I'm using a UML profile and I need to validate the stereotyped instances in my EVL module.

Thanks a lot

Hi Alireza,

If the profile is properly registered and applied to your model there shouldn't be a need to add any further metamodels. If this doesn't work for you, please send us a minimal example and I'll Investigate.

Cheers,
Dimitris

You're right.

Printing the Profile.all statement yields an empty sequence. Of course, as you can see in the attached screen shot, the profile has been registered and I can apply the stereotypes on my model.
I am using my profiles as plugins. I simply copy the plugins into the eclipse's plugins subfolder. How can I register them?

Thanks
Alireza

Hi Alireza,

In development mode, you should simply run a nested Eclipse. For deployment you should use an update site.

Cheers,
Dimitris

Hi Alireza,

I saw this just now. Could you please prepare a minimal example I can use to have a closer look at this?

Cheers,
Dimitris

Could you please share the plugin project as opposed to the exported JAR?

Cheers,

I would have expected your plugin project to also contain a plugin.xml with an extension that registers your profile. Have you perhaps left this out?

Cheers,
Dimitris

Hi Alireza,

I've reproduced the problem. We plan to spend more time on understanding the EMF magic that Eclipse UML does under the hood over the next few months and we'll look at this then. In the meantime, you can add your UML model as a regular EMF model to your launch configuration and add the missing metamodels manually. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Cheers,
Dimitris
