I create a console that extends MessageConsole. My console class has a MessageStream that receives messages from standard out and error streams. Everything works, but if I'm looking at my problem view, if a message is written to the console, the focus is changed to the console view. I would like to keep the focus on the current view. How can I keep the MessageConsole from stealing the focus?

That's a preference for the Console. See Preferences > Run/Debug > Console > Show when program writes to standard out and Show when program writes to standard error. I too find this behaviour annoying and disable both.

Eclipse Platform committer. Ask me about Eclipse support, training, and consulting.
