How to enable table style options in Word with OleClientSite? [message #1754561]

I'm using Word 2016 within my Eclipse RCP application (based on Eclipse Luna) and I've realized some actions in the Word menu are disabled.

To be more precise, checkboxes in the left side of the toolbar in the Table Creation tool tab are disabled when the document is opened in Word within Eclipse but not when opened with Word outside of Eclipse.

Why are these checkboxes disabled and is there a way to enable them?
