Hi,

we are experiencing very slow git clone with the current oomph installer.
We are observing that git clone is quite ok until 100% cloning progress, where it hangs for multiple seconds up to minutes.

I found some very old issues in JGit regarding similar performance problems, but they seem to be resolved already in 3.0.
Normal git clone via git bash on win7 x64 does work fastly. No issue here.

Does anybody experience this issue as well?
Or does anybody also know the tracking issue in jgit/egit whatever regarding this?

Btw: the git repository is quite large (in number of files) but does not come with any big or binary files.

After cloning EGit/JGit must resolve all the references and that could take quite long for a repository with a long history and many branches. In the end, Oomph just uses EGit so whatever kind of performance you see when you use EGit automatically via Oomph or manually using EGit in the IDE (which should be identical!) is something we can't influence. I'd suggest testing the behavior when you clone it manually in an IDE and asking about any slow behavior you see on the EGit forum.
