I want to change the Maven - User Settings to point to my settings.xml.
However, I do not want to provide the absolute path. Instead I want to use windows environment variable e.g MAVEN_HOME that points to where the maven files are located (the settings.xml file is then located in one of the subfolders).

I already tried to provide the variable as follows: ${env_var:MAVEN_HOME}.
The complete entry is the following: ${env_var:MAVEN_HOME}/../settings.xml

This was suggested in the post #22947281 at stackoverflow.com (using-windows-environment-variables-in-eclipse-preferences)
And it works for the described problem, but not for Maven - User Settings.

Any other suggestions that I could try to use windows environment variable here?
