In the commit view, this is a missing feature.

- Sort by name (this is today state)
- Sort by path
- Filter by pattern

Should I create a bugzilla ticket?

You mean the staging view(s)? I wonder if you noticed there is a filter field in the toolbar area of the overall view, i.e., where the text box field says "Filter files". Doesn't that suffice? It also seems to me that the different presentation layouts already give you path-based sorting, i.e., the little View triangle drop-down menu where you can choose Presentation -> List/Tree/Compact Tree. Maybe you didn't notice those either...
