Hi,
I have the Enterprise architect tool.Using that tool i can export the class diagram as ecore file and use in my eclipse work-space.But if i try to import the same ecore in Enterprise architect tool it supports importing of only xml and xmi files. So is there any plugins in eclipse to support for converting the ecore model to xmi or xml which is valid for the Enterprise architect tool.

Thanks in advance

A *.ecore for is an XMI serialization, so I'm not sure I understand the
question.

Given that it's already XML/XMI, it's not clear your requirement....

Actually my problem is in the Enterprise architect tool there is a option to export an ecore file and we can import it in the eclipse and use it.But if i create the model in the eclipse (i.e ) ecore file and export it and there is no option in the EA tool to export the ecore file. They have provided only to import xmi files and not the ecore files.

Hi

Presumably you use EA for UML, so an EA Ecore export uses an EA UML2Ecore.

Eclipse UML provides both UML2Ecore and EcoreUML (interactively in the
model editors).

You can therefore workaround the EA asymmetry by using Eclipse to save
the UML as XMI which you can then import into EA.

However you seem to be needing some form of roundtrip. Sometimes this is
necessary, but I very strongly recommend that your revise your working
practices to avoid roundtripping.

Hi

I have no idea what you mean by "umlecore" or "uml2 ecore".

Try reading http://wiki.eclipse.org/OCL/ForumNetiquette and you may
manage to communicate more successfully.

EA can't read Ecore, but it can read .emx / .uml2. So is there any plugin in eclipse to export the Ecore model in .uml2 format from Eclipse, such that EA can read that
