As the message suggest, this happens if the workspace is building and
you try to modify the workspace during that process. Eventually the
build should complete and your user operation can continue. Is that not
the case for you? I.e., does it hang/deadlock in this state forever?
You can monitor the Progress view to see what's currently building.
Perhaps the Vaadin framework installs a builder that's ill behaved...
