Type/Style/Class not found during VSM validation [message #1731542] Fri, 06 May 2016 11:49 Go to next message

Hi there!

I'm just trying to get started with Sirius and seem to have a gap in my configuration somewhere. For each class [CLASS] that I'm trying to use from my eCore model I'm getting a set of errors during the VSM validation:

*) A style is missing for [CLASS]
*) Invalid type: bi_repository.[CLASS]
*) The Class bi_repository.[CLASS] does not exist

The eCore model file is located in another project and registered with the Modeling Project using a project dependency. The Domain Class references are specified by using the "bi_repository.[CLASS]" notation. These were taken from the references offered by the auto completion mechanism.

I'm using Sirius version 3.1.6 on Mars.2 Release 4.5.2.

What I am doing wrong? Thanks a lot! I appreciate your help!

Hi,

Have you deployed your metamodel plugins in your environment?
If you are a beginner with Sirius you can take a look on the get started
page here: https://eclipse.org/sirius/getstarted.html

Hi Florian,

thanks for your answer. I followed the tutorial and it worked fine. However, for my own domain specific model (given as ecore model) I do not have a populated model yet to play with. That's is why I would like to create the editor in the first place. Apparently, the Eclipse/Sirius sample model contains more than just the class instances of the domain specific model but also some kind of implementation of the model elements (e.h. a Man or a Woman). How do I get/create/generate these implementations if I start from scratch? Thanks a lot!

Warm Regards,

Marcus
