I used to work with Eclipse in college, but that was several years ago and some of the terminology is lost on me. What is the window where you actually type code called, and how would I restore it if I accidentally closed it? Also, is there a specific forum on this site or elsewhere that you'd recommend for questions related to the Pydev extension for Eclipse?

The edit window? Each language has its own.

PyDev is developed by a third party. Check out their website for
information on support or try stackoverflow.com.

If you've somehow minimized or "lost" your editor area, the easiest remedy is probably to use Window > Perspective > Reset Perspective... to restore the entire panel layout to its original state.
